Surat Rasulullah Muhammad Saw kepada Biara Saint. Chaterine di Pegunungan Sinai (628 M)

"Ini adalah pesan dari Muhammad ibn Abdullah, sebagai perjanjian kepada mereka yang meyakini kekristenan, dekat dan jauh, kami bersama mereka Sesungguhnya aku, para sahabat, pembantu, dan pengikutku membela mereka, karena orang Kristen adalah wargaku. Demi Allah! Aku akan melawan apa pun yang tidak menyenangkan mereka.

Tidak ada paksaan pada mereka. Tidak juga para hakim atau para pendeta mereka—dihapus dari pekerjaannya dari biara mereka. Tidak ada satu pun orang bisa menghancurkan rumah agama mereka, merusaknya, atau membawa apa-apa dari situ ke rumahrumah kaum Muslim. Siapa pun yang tidak menaati ini, ia telah merusak perjanjian dengan Allah dan tidak menaati Rasul-Nya. 

Sesungguhnya, mereka adalah sekutuku dan memiliki piagam aman dariku terhadap semua yang mereka benci. Tak ada yang memaksa mereka melakukan perjalanan atau mewajibkannya melawan. Umat Islam harus berjuang untuk mereka.

Jika seorang perempuan Kristen menikahi seorang Muslim, itu tidak akan terjadi tanpa persetujuannya. Ia tak boleh dicegah dari mengunjungi gerejanya untuk berdoa. Gereja-gereja mereka harus dihormati. Mereka tidak boleh dicegah dari memperbaiki (gereja)nya pun kesucian perjanjiannya. Tidak ada satu bangsa Muslim pun yang boleh melanggar perjanjian ini sampai Hari Terakhir (Kiamat)."

"This is a message from Muhammad ibn Abdullah, as a covenant to those who adopt Christianity, near and far, we are with them. Verily I, the servants, the helpers, and my followers defend them, because Christians are my citizens; and by Allah! I hold out against anything that displeases them.

No compulsion is to be on them. Neither are their judges to be removed from their jobs nor their monks from their monasteries. No one is to destroy a house of their religion, to damage it, or to carry anything from it to the Muslims' houses. Should anyone take any of these, he would spoil God's covenant and disobey His Prophet. Verily, they are my allies and have my secure charter against all that they hate. No one is to force them to travel or to oblige them to fight. The Muslims are to fight for them.

If a female Christian is married to a Muslim, it is not to take place without her approval. She is not to be prevented from visiting her church to pray. Their churches are to be respected. They are neither to be prevented from repairing them nor the sacredness of their covenants. No one of the nation (Muslims) is to disobey the covenant till the Last Day (end of the world)."
Per a preserved information at Sinai's St. Catherine's Monastery, a Patent (see above image) from Prophet Mohammed (pbuh) was given to a Chrisian delegation who visited him in Medina in 628 AD. The Patent was sealed with an imprint representing Muhammad's hand."
